Biography

Born July 22, 1992, Selena Marie Gomez is a professional American singer / actress, of Mexican-American descent. Named after Selena Quintanilla, she started her acting career on Barney & Friends  at age 7, and by 2007 she would land the starring role on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place.
 
Gomez is a 10-time Teen Choice Award winner, Emmy Award winner (2009) and Multi-Platinum recording artist. In 2008, the only child from Grand Prairie, Texas formed her own production company, July Moon Productions and in 2009 created the clothing line Dream Out Loud.
 
Selena has supported Alliance for Children’s Rights, Elton John AIDS Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer. At age 17, she also became the youngest United States ambassador for UNICEF. The entertainer has been romantically tied to Nick Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Justin Bieber.
