Born January 17, 1981, William Ray Norwood Jr. is a professional American singer / songwriter / actor and the first cousin of rapper Snoop Dogg. Born in McComb, Mississippi, he was raised in Southern California with his older sister and entertainer Brandy.
In 1993, at the age of 12, Norwood co-starred on The Sinbad Show as foster son L.J. Beckley.  Later, he would appear with sister Brandy on Moesha and the television reality show For the Love of Ray J.  In 1996, Ray J released his solo record debut Everything You Want.  His 2008 album All I Feel would peak at #1 on the R&B charts. Norwood’s motivational and inspiring messages have helped him gain over 1.4 million followers on Twitter.
The entertainer is also noted for having gained recognition through the release of an unauthorized video with former girlfriend Kim Kardashian. In 2014, Ray J was charged with 10 crimes including resisting arrest, assault, battery and vandalism. He has also been romantically tied to the late Whitney Houston.
