Born December 30, 1984, LeBron Raymone James is a professional American basketball player. James, who played at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 2010, the 6’8″ forward would leave Cleveland to join the Miami Heat. In 2014 he announced his return to the Cavaliers.
The 10-time NBA All-Star (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), 2-time NBA Champion (2012, 2013), 4-time MVP (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) and 2-time Olympic Gold Medal winner (2008, 2012) was also NBA Rookie of the Year (2004), NBA Scoring Champion (2008) and Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year (2012).
In 2004, James established the LeBron James Family Foundation to help children and young adults through education and co-curricular initiatives. He is also a supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, After-School All-Stars and the Children’s Defense Fund. In September 2013 he married high school girlfriend Savannah Brinson.
