Born July 10, 1980, Jessica Ann Simpson (Johnson) is a professional, American singer, media personality and business woman. Daughter of a Baptist minister and older sister of Ashlee Simpson, Jessica grew up in Richardson, Texas. At age 12, she began singing in a church choir and by her senior year at J.J. Pearce High School, the former homecoming queen would sign with Proclaim Records and drop out of school.
After an unsuccessful audition for Disney’s Micky Mouse Club, Jessica would sign with Tommy Mottola of Columbia Records. Her second album, Sweet Kisses would sell over 2 million copies and include Top 10 single “I Wanna Love You Forever”. Three additional albums would be certified Gold: Irresistible,  In This Skin  and A Public Affair. Her singles With YouTake My Breath Away,   These Boots Are Made for Walkin and A Public Affair  would also sell over 500,000 copies.
The 3-time winner of the Billboard Music Award (2000, 2001 2003) has also won 2 People’s Choice Awards (2005, 2006) and 6 Teen Choice Awards (2000 x 2, 2004 x 2, 2005, 2006). She was named as one of FHM Magazine‘s “100 sexiest Women in the World” 6-times (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) and included in Maxim Magazine‘s “Hot 100”, 6-times (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007).
In October 2002, Jessica Simpson married singer Nick Lachey (98 Degrees) and soon began the reality TV show Newlyweds, Nick & Jessica. In 2004 she would sing at Super Bowl XXXVIII and launch the “Dessert Beauty” brand of edible beauty products. By 2005, the celebrity couple would file for divorce.
Simpson appeared in the 2005 movie The Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the Month. She was romantically tied to NFL quarterback Tony Romo and singer John Mayer before marrying former football player Eric Johnson in 2014.
